Anita Woods
I am a professional mixed media figurative artist, working mainly in watercolour and mixed media.
I love pushing the boundaries of watercolour using layers and other media to see what I can achieve. I feel that I have a lot more to discover yet. Its a journey I haven’t completed. My paintings are inspired by my love of animals and landscape, along with Celtic tales and legends, not to forget the ever-present music in my studio. Sometimes a line in a song or a song title will bring an image or feeling to mind. This is usually my starting point. I then start to build the painting.
As well as my work being exhibited widely, my paintings have also been selected for the ‘Wales Contemporary’ in 2020, 2022 and 2023 and the RCA open in 2024 and 2025
As well as original paintings I have a range of cards and prints.
