Sue Lewis - Kumihimo Braided Bracelets
Create a colourful braided bracelet from leather laces whilst mastering this versatile technique.
Developed by Samurai warriors, used to adorn their saddlery and armour. An ancient braiding technique that can be used to create decorative dog leads and stylish belts, coordinating light pulls or curtain tie backs. When combined with crystals or beads intricate rope style lariat or choker style necklaces and bracelets can be fashioned.
During this two hour workshop everyone will design and complete a leather kumihimo braided bracelet with end caps, lobster clasp and chain for a professional looking finish.
All materials will be supplied by the tutor, the cost for these is included within the charge for attending the workshop. Participants may keep their kumihimo disc upon completion of the session. The perfect way to kick start a new hobby!
Adults and/or family groups (adults accompanying children aged 10 years plus)

Tea and coffee will be provided.
For full day workshops lunch will be available to purchase from the Bothy Tearooms, located below the Loft Gallery or alternatively bring a packed lunch.
All under 12’s participating must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult throughout the duration of the session.
